Drive Belt Inspection and Replacement
Drive Belt Inspection and Replacement
Tools and Materials Needed
- New drive belt (if replacement is needed)
- Wrenches (14 mm)
- Torque wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Vehicle
Park the car on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Allow the engine to cool.
Inspect the Drive Belt
Open the hood and locate the drive belt. Inspect the belt for cracks, fraying, or glazing.
Replace the Drive Belt (if needed)
If the belt is worn, use a wrench to release tension on the belt tensioner. Remove the old belt from the pulleys. Route the new belt over the pulleys according to the belt routing diagram. Release the tensioner to apply tension to the new belt.
Final Check
Start the engine and check the belt's operation. Ensure that the belt is properly tensioned and that there are no unusual noises.
