Spark Plug Replacement

Tools and Materials Needed

  • New spark plugs (NGK IFR7G-11KS recommended)
  • Ratchet and spark plug socket (16 mm)
  • Spark plug gap tool
  • Anti-seize compound (optional)
  • Torque wrench

Step-by-Step Instructions

Access the Spark Plugs

Open the hood and locate the ignition coils on top of the engine.

Remove the Ignition Coils

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils. Remove the bolts securing the coils (10 mm), and gently pull the coils out to access the spark plugs.

Remove the Old Spark Plugs

Use a ratchet and spark plug socket to remove the old plugs. Inspect the old plugs for wear or deposits.

Prepare and Install the New Spark Plugs

Check the gap on the new plugs using a gap tool (0.8-0.9 mm). Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads (optional). Install the new plugs by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten them with a torque wrench to 22 Nm.

Reconnect the Ignition Coils

Reattach the ignition coils and secure them with the bolts. Reconnect the electrical connectors.

Final Check

Start the engine to ensure smooth operation.
